Mid-range Lodges in the National Park of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Do you intend to book any mid-range accommodation in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest? In the southwestern region of Uganda lies Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, a home to almost half of the world’s remaining mountain gorilla population. There are two semi-habituated mountain gorilla families available for habituation at any time of the year, and over 19 completely habituated families that are accessible for trekking within the national park.

There are four sectors in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, and each has its own gorilla families to walk with and lodging options. Depending on the sector, visitors planning to stay in a mid-range lodging while visiting Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park may use any of the following options:

In the Buhoma sector of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, there is a mid-range lodging option called Buhoma Haven Lodge. Situated on a rocky slope, Buhoma Haven Lodge offers breathtaking views of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. There are six cottages at Buhoma Haven Lodge with twin or double bedrooms.

There are three types of cottages: one is a family cottage, two are self-contained, and two are not. The African-inspired cottages are constructed using indigenous building materials. The Lodge boasts a fine dining establishment with skilled chefs serving both regional and global cuisine. They offer plenty of parking, a well-stocked bar, and a gift shop.

Bwindi Neckview Lodge

Bwindi Neck View Lodge is a mid-range accommodation option located along Ruhija Sector road in Buhoma sector on the Neck of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. This lodge offers hiking opportunities to gorilla families in both Buhoma and Ruhija gorilla trekking sectors. The layout of Bwindi Neck View Lodge provides guests with a broad view of the Bwindi Forest.

Bwindi Neck View Lodge has well stocked bar and restaurant for both local and inter continental cuisines, their rooms come equipped with a private bathroom, flushing toilets, free Wi-Fi, mosquito nets, breakfast in the room, fire place, parking space, and many more amenities.

Engage Lodge

Located in Buhoma sector of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Engagi Lodge is a mid-range lodging establishment. Eucalyptus trees and banana fibers, which are native to the area, were used to construct the Lodge.

Eight cottages at Engagi Lodge have private bathrooms, flushing toilets, solar power, double and twin beds, and complimentary Wi-Fi. The Lodge features a dining space, a sitting area, a well-stocked bar, and a veranda with breathtaking views of the Bwindi Forest.

Lake Mutanda Resort

Situated on the shores of Lake Mutanda, one of Uganda’s most picturesque lakes, is the mid-range lodging establishment known as Lake Mutanda Resort. Mountain gorilla trekking is available to visitors to Lake Mutanda Resort in the southern region of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.

Those dining at Lake Mutanda Resort will be treated to stunning sunset views from their seats along the lake’s edge. Thirteen exquisite African-style villas can be found in Lake Mutanda. Each accommodation features an own veranda with stunning views of Lake Mutanda, as well as an ensuite bathroom.

Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge

Situated close to the Rushaga gate in the southern region of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge is a brand-new, mid-range lodging establishment. Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge has four standard rooms with comfortable linen and nine independent cottages.

There are single, double, and triple rooms at the Lodge with breathtaking views of the Bwindi Forest. Airport pickup is available, as well as a restaurant with tasty meals, a minibar, a gift store, Wi-Fi, parking, a hot shower, and a balcony.

Lake Mulehe Gorilla Lodge

Seven kilometers from Lake Mutanda, near Kisoro, is the location of the Lodge. If you plan to trek mountain gorillas in the Rushaga and Nkuringo sectors of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park or the Mgahinga National Park, the Lodge is an ideal spot to stay. The way the lake is built offers fantastic views of Lake Mulehe. The 14 independent cottages at the Lodge each have a private veranda with a direct view of the Virunga Mountain range and Lake Mulehe.

Trekker’s Tavern Cottages

Situated in the Ruhija sector of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, Trekker’s Tavern Cottages is a mid-range lodging establishment. The lodge is situated on a hill with stunning views of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park and the Virunga volcanoes. There are five cottages at Trekker’s Tavern Cottages, each with a private bathroom, lovely linens, and a double or single bed. They feature plenty of parking, Wi-Fi, a bar with soft and hard drinks, and a restaurant with skilled cooks.

Bakiga Lodge

Located in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park’s Ruhija area. Five minutes separate Ruhija gorilla trekking assembly point from the Lodge. The Lodges are situated to provide breathtaking views of the Bwindi forest and the valley below. The ten roomy cabins at Bakiga Lodge are all self-contained and have private toilets. At Bakiga Lodge, every room features a private balcony, a walk-in shower, a private bathroom, a seating area, free WiFi, and much more.

Kitandara Bwindi Camp

In Buhoma region of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, there is a mid-range lodging option called Lake Kitandara Bwindi Camp. There are twenty luxurious tents at Lake Kitandara Bwindi Camp, and each one is named after a bird that is found in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.

The self-contained rooms provide solar electricity, free Wi-Fi, cold and hot bathrooms, and single, double, and twin beds. The Lodge features a restaurant with highly-trained chefs serving both local and international cuisine, as well as a bar with soft and cold drinks.

Silverback Lodge Bwindi

Situated in the Buhoma sector of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. The national park headquarters, where gorilla trekking begins, is five minutes’ walk from the lodge. If you’re looking for accommodations with stunning views of the Bwindi Forest, Silverback Lodge is the ideal choice.

The Lodge features twelve rooms that are designed in an African style with grass-thatched roofs, en suite bathrooms, comfortable twin or double beds, and private verandas. Free parking, free public WiFi, and laundry facilities are available.

Rushaga Gorilla Camp

Rushaga sector of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is home to Rushaga Gorilla Camp. The Nshongi gorilla family’s home range is not far from Rushaga Gorilla Camp. Rushaga Gorilla Camp can house up to 30 people and features 6 self-contained bandas, 14 self-contained luxury tents, and 2 family bandas.

Eco Marvels Gorilla Resort

Situated in the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, between Buhoma and Ruhija Sector, is a mid-range lodging option. Guests at this lodge have the opportunity to hike gorilla families in Ruhija and Buhoma sectors. The Eco Marvels Gorilla Resort’s design offers visitors a wide-angle perspective of the Bwindi Forest. Gorilla Mist Camp

Situated in Ruhija area of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, Gorilla Mist Camp is a mid-range lodging establishment. The Lodge is the greatest place to stay if you’re on a gorilla trekking safari in Bwindi because it’s only five minutes’ drive from the park headquarters. There are twelve eco-friendly grass-thatched cabins at the Lodge.

The rooms feature a balcony with fantastic views of the Bwindi Forest, twin beds, a bathtub, and a flushing toilet. There’s a restaurant with excellent cooks, a well equipped bar with both soft and cold drinks, laundry facilities, a gift store, wifi, and much more at Gorilla Mist Camp.

Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge

Situated in the Nkuringo section of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, a national park, Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge offers a combination of mid-range and luxury accommodations. Perched atop Nteko Ridge, the Lodge provides sweeping views of the Bwindi Forest and the Kashasha River Valley.

Eight cottages at Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge are constructed from local natural materials, and the rooms are furnished with solar-powered handicrafts. The rooms feature a seating space, a private balcony, a private bathroom, and twin or double beds. They do have a lovely restaurant with excellent cooks, a gift store, a well-stocked bar, free Wi-Fi, and plenty of parking.

Gorilla Valley Lodge

Located in the Rushaga area of the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, Gorilla Valley Lodge is a mid-range lodging establishment. Situated on the hillsides with a view of Bwindi Forest, the Lodge is only a short distance from the park’s edge.

The self-contained Gorilla Valley Lodge contains twelve rooms, each with a veranda that faces the bush. The suites have private verandas, lovely beds, and en suite bathrooms. They do offer a well-stocked bar, a restaurant with competent chefs, and a fireplace.

Bwindi Jungle Lodge

Located near Kisoro town, Bwindi Jungle Lodge offers accommodations in the midrange. Situated near the beaches of Lake Mulehe, the Lodge provides excellent views of both the lake and the Virunga Mountain range. Self-contained rooms with private balconies are available at The Lodge. The Bwindi Jungle Lodge cottages sleep two persons with one double bed or two twin beds. In addition to many other amenities, they offer free Wi-Fi, a common lounge, baths, flushing toilets, mosquito netting, and much more.
