Day 1: Reaching Kigali
Get your safari briefings and meet your tour leader at Kigali International Airport when you arrive. Drive to your hotel later to spend the night there.
Day 2: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park, City Tour, and Cultural Tour
After breakfast, embark on a city tour of Kigali that includes a visit to the Genocide Memorial, one of many across the nation. After lunch and a trip to the Presidential and Natural History museums, head north to Musanze, the home of the renowned endangered mountain gorillas. Visit the Ib’iwacu Cultural Center later in the day to get a taste of the genuine Rwandese way of life.
Day 3: Twin Lakes and Gorillas
Following breakfast and your morning wake-up call, proceed to the park headquarters where the guides for Volcanoes National Park will give you a gorilla trekking briefing. Begin your trip, which will vary in duration based on the gorilla group you have been assigned to, after you have been assigned to a particular group. Before you head back down the volcano slopes, you will spend an hour with them. After lunch at the lodge, head back to Kigali in the afternoon to catch your flight out that evening.
