Day 1: Arrival to Kigali city
A representative from Kagera Safaris will be waiting to greet you when you arrive at the airport and welcome you to “the land of a thousand hills.” Before visiting Volcanoes National Park, you will first have a tour of Kigali. The Kigali Genocide Memorial Center, Kigali’s craft markets, and the Kandt National Museum are among the attractions you can visit, depending on when you arrive and, hence, how long you spend in the city before driving to Musanze. You have the option to skip the city tour and head straight to Musanze in preparation for the Rwanda gorilla trekking the following day.
You enjoy lunch in Kigali after your quick tour of the city. In order to get ready for the gorilla trekking, you begin the drive to Musanze after lunch.
Day: 2 Trekking with gorillas in Volcanoes National Park
In Uganda, gorillasThe driver guide will take you to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters for a briefing following an early breakfast. The ranger guide will offer advice on how to interact with mountain gorillas during your visit to the park. While you wait to begin your trip, you will be treated to authentic Rwandan coffee and traditional Rwandan dancers. You are split up into various gorilla groups to begin the walk after the briefing. In order to enjoy hiking in the Volcanoes, gorilla trekking requires that you be reasonably fit.
You can visit the gorilla guardians village to gain more knowledge about Rwandan culture and the people who have lived alongside the gorillas for years if the gorilla family you visit is close by and you can complete this excursion in the morning.
Day 3: Golden Monkey Trekking in Rwanda: Departure
We head back to the briefing area after breakfast today, but this time we’re going golden monkey trekking. Primates known as golden monkeys are found in the Virunga mountains of Rwanda, Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. In general, golden monkeys are more active than gorillas. You must follow them constantly as they search for food, especially the tasty bamboo shoots, if you want to get good pictures. In search of potatoes, they are occasionally observed entering the nearby gardens. It is important to remember that, in contrast to some gorilla families, they are typically not very far away, making the hike to their habitat considerably easier. Similar to the day before, you will be briefed at the park headquarters before beginning your golden monkey journey.

Although you can bring a packed lunch, the hike often only takes a few minutes, allowing you to return to the resort for lunch. The driving guide will transport you to Kigali after lunch so you can go back to your accommodation or catch your flight home.
