Day 1: Arrival in Kigali
Upon your arrival at Kigali International Airport, you’ll be greeted by your guide, who will assist you throughout your journey. After transferring to your accommodation in Kigali and checking in, you’ll embark on a city tour, which includes a visit to the Genocide Memorial Center, providing deep insights into Rwanda’s history and resilience. Conclude the day with a delightful dinner at a local restaurant, where you can savor the flavors of Rwandan cuisine. You’ll spend the night in Kigali.
Day 2: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Following an early breakfast at your hotel, you’ll depart for Volcanoes National Park, a scenic 2-3 hour drive from Kigali. Upon arrival, you’ll check in at your lodge and enjoy lunch before proceeding to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters. Here, you’ll receive a comprehensive briefing on gorilla trekking and be assigned a gorilla family to track. Setting off into the forest, accompanied by experienced rangers, you’ll embark on an exhilarating gorilla trek. After locating the gorilla family, you’ll have a magical hour observing them in their natural habitat. Returning to your lodge, you’ll enjoy dinner and spend the night near Volcanoes National Park.
Day 3: Gorilla Trekking and Departure
An early start to the day begins with breakfast at your lodge before heading back to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters for another gorilla trekking briefing. This time, you’ll track a different gorilla family, adding to your unique experience. After another incredible encounter with the gorillas, you’ll return to your lodge for lunch and check-out. Departing for Kigali, you’ll have the option to stop at local markets or craft shops for souvenir shopping. Finally, transfer to Kigali International Airport for your departure, marking the end of your memorable gorilla trekking adventure.
