Mountain gorillas are endangered species of primates not commonly seen in every country across the world. These apes are seen in only three countries which are Uganda, Rwanda, and DR Congo.

Mountain gorillas in the world are only found in four national parks which are all situated in Africa. These national parks are located in the eastern part of Africa in Uganda, Rwanda, and DR Congo. Accessing the forest national park by air transport from Entebbe is done by different airline companies. Flights start from Entebbe international airport or Kajjansi airstrip to Kihihi airstrip or Kisoro Airststrip. Kihihi airstrip is used by tourists visiting Ruhija and Buhoma in the northern sector of the park while Kisoro airstrip is used by tourists visiting Nkuringo and Rushaga sectors in the south of the park.

By road transport, tourists can access Bwindi impenetrable forest from Kigali Rwanda or Entebbe/Kampala. Tourists who fly to Kigali get to have a shortest route to Bwindi because crossing via kyanika or katuna to the park takes about 4 hours. From Entebbe/Kampala tourists drive for 9 to 10 hours through Mpigi, Masaka, Lyantonde, Mbarara, Ntungamo, Kabale or Kisoro to any of the sectors of the park.
